St, Ignatius Senior Center Offers Varied Activities

Undoubtedly the most popular events at the St. Ignatius Senior Citizens Center are the lunches served at noon each Tuesday and Friday.  Lunches are delivered for those who need this service. Many people stick around after lunch to play bingo.  Usually there are several tables in play.

You won’t want to miss the evening meal served at 5:30 p.m. on the first Wednesday of each month. (No delivery for Wednesday meals.)

Pinochle players from Mission Valley meet at the Senior Citizens Center on the second Monday night of the month. Play begins at 7 p.m. There will be an extra night of pinochle play in the St. Ignatius center this month on Monday, August 30.

There is quilting just about every Thursday.

The Foothills Club meets at the Center.

Private and public groups rent the center as necessary for class reunions, receptions and church services.

The Monday morning Wii bowling will resume soon.

On a more serious note, center volunteers drive people to medical appointments. The center is also a distribution point for commodities. Anyone wanting to find out if they qualify for meal deliveries or commodities may call or write to the center at St. Ignatius Senior Citizens, Box 758, St. Ignatius MT 59865.

Everyone is invited to come -  have a bite to eat -  get acquainted with the friendly folks and join in the activities including volunteer service.

For more information call the center at 745-4462 or center president Mack McConnell at 745-4151.
